Our green roadmap

 The sustainability of our fro...

The sustainability of our frozen ready meals is closely linked to the practices and policies we implement across the entire Crop's company. Thanks to our vertically integrated agricultural, production, and distribution facilities, we stay in charge of every step of the process.

With environmental commitments that go beyond the general requirements, we can guarantee:

Full Traceability

We take pride in the traceability of our product ingredients back to the very fields they originated from. Thanks to this level of transparency, we take accountability for every step of our supply chain and can guarantee top standards of food quality and safety.

100% Natural Products

We work with only natural ingredients to deliver authentic products free from any artificial additives. It is essential not only for the rich flavors of our meals but also reflects our commitment to sharing wholesome and nutritious options consumers can trust.

 Respectful Relationships

Our way of collaborating with growers, producers, chefs, and suppliers is rooted in respect as a core value. We foster respect for the work ethics and safety of everyone involved, as well as the culinary traditions of different cultures and their authentic flavours.

Know-how

Working close to nature, we aim at understanding the terroirs in which we work to achieve maximum harmony with our sourcing regions. This involves both respecting the agricultural tradition of each land and using innovative techniques that enable us to optimise resource management

Best Quality Sourcing

We are committed to sourcing and selecting the ingredients that align with the highest standards of quality, flavour, safety, and sustainability. While our vegetables, grains, and spices are predominantly sourced and handled in-house to ensure maximum control, we obtain other ingredients, such as proteins, following the same rigorous standards.

Responsibility

We take responsibility for every aspect of our activity, from growing to delivering our frozen ready meals. That includes the packaging. We guide our customers towards more sustainable solutions by organising innovation meetings where we introduce eco-friendlier packaging options.

Less food waste

By offering food in frozen form, where consumers can use just the right amount for each meal, we aim to minimise food waste.

Crop's TRUST program

At Crop’s, we aim to set standards that not only meet current industry regulations but go beyond them. Our focus is on consistently finding innovative ways to reduce the environmental impact across our entire supply chain. Since we control every step of our products’ journey—from seed to table—we keep sight of the bigger picture.

The story of harmony - Belgium...

The story of harmony - Belgium

Our flagship environmental initiative focuses on restoring the Haut-Geer nature reserve in Belgium’s historic agricultural region. By partnering with Natagora and Apligeer in 2014 we revived the decaying sedimentation reservoirs left unmanaged after a local beetroot refinery closed.

Reviving the 26-hectare area near our fields and factory required diverse expertise to harmonize the natural conditions with our activity, including responsible water management.

Today, Haut-Geer thrives as a natural reserve with over 212 bird species, becoming an ornithological paradise and a biodiversity success story.

We've also integrated a smart water purification system into our production flow. After cleaning and blanching vegetables, we purify wastewater to irrigate fields in the growing season and supply Haut-Geer’s reservoirs in winter.

An on-site biomethanisation facility, designed to convert waste into renewable energy, utilizes vegetable waste and sludge from the wastewater treatment. It also valorises the biogas extracted from the wastewater.

In combination with the energy generated by the solar panels floating on one of our water storage basins, the production site is 95% self-sufficient. An additional advantage of the biomethanisation process is that residual heat can be used as steam to blanch vegetables within our factory. This reduces gas consumption by up to 25%.

State-of-the art production facility - Spain

We are dedicated to transforming towards renewable energy sources and working together with nature to maintain the land and promote biodiversity. Our Spanish Monliz factory stands out as a proud example of these activites.

Harnessing solar energy, so abundant in the Extremadura region, we have installed photovoltaic panels in the fields and on factory grounds.

The factory also features an independent water purification system and advanced water management solutions within our fields. Drip irrigation, combined with weather stations, satellite imagery, and soil sensors, has reduced water usage by over 15% in our pepper crops.
